food for thought

This article is about international relation of food reflection.Different countries have different cuisine, which is so-called national food. And these kinds of cuisine can influnce how a nation's awareness, action and the direction of policy. It's perfect lens to view these. On the ther hand, the various types of food of nations are also decided by its nation's some imperial history. They complement each other.
Take Chinese food for example,Chinese people pay much attention to cuisine,we average prepare a family standarded meal more than one times longer than American cuisine. Not only this,we also pay attention to color, taste, and aroma of dishes with using round dining table. It reflects the culture of what Chinese people attach importance to self image to others and a kind of family's harmony, union.Chinese reciepes are relatively plentiful. This is why Chinese resturants in USA are so popular. But to be frank, some of them are not completely authenic.

You made a clear summary in your entry. I agree with your ideas. You say that Chinese food in USA is not perfect, maybe the materials are different from original Chinese food.

I'm thinking about your comment about how in China, you eat around a round table and that you often share food. I found this to be true in restaurants in China, for sure. I wonder if it's a good reflection of a collective society. Whereas in the US, we're a more individualistic society.

A couple of years ago my friends and I went to a restaurant here in Minneapolis that encouraged us to order dishes of food and share them. At the time, I thought it was really interesting - usually in American restaurants, sharing is not really encouraged (though people do it all the time!). It was really refreshing to share food at a restaurant, kind of like I might do at home!

Hi!

I like your comment about how food reflects in the familiar relationship. I have the same back home... We usually spend long hours preparing the food and around the table... eating! eating! eating! ;-)
